About

Welcome to my blog, a vaguely anarchic and eclectic mix of political musings, updates from my travels, gripes about graduate school, and various other writings.

I am a graduate of Princeton University and Worcester College at Oxford University, currently studying at the University of California, Berkeley.  My passion is for mixing the activist and the intellectual; my main interests are the local dimensions of climate change in the developing world, radical sustainability movements, and the politics of waste.  Some of my less pretentious sounding interests include running, punk rock (preferably poorly recorded British anarcho-punk from the 1980s), attempting to master the art of baking vegan cookies, The Cult of Elk, and the Princeton University Band.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Dubrah, you are very smart.
    And very pretentious sounding here.
Any statement where you finish with “some of my less pretentious sounding interests” is going to be pretentious in and of itself – you recognize that you’ve got pretentious interests, and are classifying your interests based on whether they are or not.

I may be going a bit nuts with this new ability to comment on your blog. the kids are typing their letters to Obama; I am definitely Babysitting for Mexico right now.

  2. i don’t think you sound pretentious
